Why doesn't Maryanne have better wine? You'd think her boss would be able to score the best wine in town.

and for the record

Eric Northman makes me go BAM BAM BAM

I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map, And knew that somehow I could find my way back; Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too - So I stayed in the darkness with you

Oh sweet sweet Eric meeeeeeoowwwwww.

I'm behind a couple episodes so I have to catch up apparently last weeks episode left my friend thirsting for more. The books and the show are quite different but I like the both for what they are.

I have to admit after reading the books I was done with Bill he's a douche. But watching the show has made me like him again :blackeye:

I loves me some Lafayette as well

I like that Godrick is trying to get vamps to evolve....

I know the book and show are supposed to be different but I am wondering if the Eric/Sookie thing is going to happen.

Ok

I didn't think it was much of a spoiler.

When do you get to view it?

I am waiting to talk about it so everyone can catch up.

I can't get HBO so I have to wait until I can get it online. I have it now and will watch it shortly.

Ooookay, finally watched it. :P

I'm liking Eric more now. I didn't very much before and definitely didn't find him that attractive with the long hair and the meanness. But now that he's softening up a bit, I'm liking him more.

I thought this last episode was pretty good. It almost seemed like Jason turned too quickly though. I like Godric. It's nice to have someone reign in the monsters and when he kicked out Bill's maker that was awesome! Though it seemed like Sookie's reaction to her ramped up really quickly.

And poor Jessica. :(

I'm reaaaaaaaaaaaally read for Maryann's character to go away.

I haven't seen any previews for next week but I'm hoping a vampire gets to Luke before he sets off his bomb.

Spoilers

I loved the way Godric handled Bill's maker. loved it loved it loved it. She walked in all bada$$ and started talking trash and he was ....bam. shut up and get out.

I have no idea now Maryann is going to work back into the story, but the whole...heart thing was eeeewww. She doesn't much remind me of the stories of the Maenads of Dionysus except for the whole orgy party thing. And I still have no idea how she works into the rest of the story unless she is out to get rid of the vampires.

I feel for Jessica too, I keep thinking she is going to accidently kill Hyot being she such a new vampire.

and back to Godric....he's older than Christ. :Q I keep thinking he might be Greek or early Roman with his looks. Maybe he's from Sparta. ha ha.

and one of my weirdest thoughts about the whole thing is Carrie Preston....I keep thinking of Ben/Arlene a Lost crossover. Ben brings in his stick of death and kills Maryann, Arlene then gets him a beer.

Same here. I don't understand what her purpose is going to be. Surely it can't just involve Sam? That seems to be the only reason she's there. You'd think a being like her would have known about vampires for a looong time.

I read in the actor's bio that the woman who plays Arlene was in Lost and Desperate Housewives...she seems to have been in quite a few things I've seen but I honestly cannot remember her at all.

I'm quite conflicted about Eric's character. Sometimes you really hate him, but others you quite like him. And damn is he hot! It's going to be interesting to see how things progress with him and Sookie.

I'm hoping the Maryann story will be coming to a head soon. It's definitely my least favourite part of the show.

I'm so glad Hoyt is finally standing up to his mother!

I don't really understand why Godric felt he needed to commit suicide. He was shaping up to be a great character.

I totally agree with you Eruname about Godric. he was really turing into an iconic character and something truly different in the history of vampires. Of course half of his name is God... and he certainly sounded rather Christ-like in his philosophy. Sorry to see him go.

I would like to ask the ladies a question here. I am a hetrosexual male who feels queasy and uncomfortable when two Italian Mafia types kiss each other on the cheek. Is it just me or did Eric look much better in clothes than he did without them? To me it looked he was about 80 pounds lighter without clothes - all of it muscle and definition.

Godric's name, and the way he committed suicide (martyred) had definite christlike connotations. That being said, I've seen a couple of episodes, and I don't get the popularity. Bill sounds eternally constipated, that Maryann plot arc is too slow for me to care why it is happening, and the only two scenes that I liked were that red-haired vamp in her undies (the one that got mad at the momma's boy's mother for saying she can't have babies), and the scene of Anna Paquin topless.

I don't think that this show is for guys.

He still looked fantastic without any clothes on. :P

I think part of it was the angle we saw him at. He has very broad shoulders which you can't see from the side which could make him look smaller.

Article in todays paper said that the ratings on the last episode were the highest HBO has had since The Soprano's. So it looks it will be around for a few more years. I just hope they don't end the last episode at Sam Merlots place with the jukebox playing "Don't Stop Believin" by Journey as the main cast members sit in a booth eating munchies.
