Yeah, sort of. That or the shores of faery. :D

But yay! Your turn! (It's one of my favorite poems.)

This may be too difficult because I've only seen it mentioned in one book. Let's give it a go...

What was the name of the language Tolkien considered for the orcs, before he settled on the Black Speech of Mordor?

Don't know, but I wonder if it was a twisted form of Valarin, Sindarin, or Quenya.

I'm looking for a language name - I don't actually know anything about the language itself, except that it provided one of the characters with his name.

Yes, I know what you're looking for, which is why I said that I didn't know. :P

This may be too obscure. Should I just give the answer and ask a new question?

I wouldn't even know where to go looking. But I'm sure I'll recognise it when you tell us! ;)

You may not - I came across the mention of Mágol, or Mágo, in the commentaries of History of the Hobbit, and had never seen it before. The goblin Bolg, meaning "strong", gets his name from this language.

Okay, new question: what is the only reference in the legendarium to an orcish child?

I just spent some time looking for the answer, Jude, and I didn't come across that in everything I read. (I did learn quite a bit, though! :) )

Orc child, huh? What's this fascination with the Dark Side? ;)

Ooooh, I know this one...it's in HOBBIT - isn't Gollum described as having eaten a young Orc child or "goblin-imp", shortly before he first met Bilbo?

Now for something a little more obscure...

What was the name of the great whale in the service of Ulmo, who he used to drag Tol Eressea towards Valinor in the earlier versions of the legendarium?
