Godiva is evil... I see it, and I simply must buy it... that's not fair...

It's expensive too. Nothing that good should be expensive. It makes my wallet cry...

But the Godiva dark chocolate ganache... great, now I'm going to have to get some soon...

I'm partial to chocolate covered nuts. :D

My daily chocolate is Ghirardelli, which I get in the baking chocolate section of my grocery store.

Sidonzo,

Lidless is right. I'll introduce you to Valrhona, if we can ever get together. I think I'll have some myself right now.

I do feel sorry for American not having access to decent chocolate, although Lindt is not too bad.

You all have my deepest sympathys :D

Wanders off to munch a bit of Green & Blacks, before contemplating a visit to Leonidas.

Waits for the Belgian and Swiss contingent to storm in and have a fight (hopefully in a tub of moten chocolate) about who produces the best chocolate in the world.

Dude, is my signature appropriate or what?

Hmm, Hershey's. Not too bad, if you're starving, I guess. Otherwise, I agree with Lidless' assessment of its non-chocolate status.

Lindt is good. Their white chocolate truffle with white chocolate filling is TO GAIN WEIGHT FOR. Like, whoa. I like Ghirardelli, as my sig pic might indicate. I am particularly partial to their milk chocolate with caramel filling, although I will eat virtually any Ghirardelli except dark. Godiva, however, I have found to be overpriced and overrated IMO. I am fine with paying whatever amount I can afford for good chocolate - but Godiva, to me, is reminiscent of Hershey's. I have no idea why, and I wish I understood what everyone else sees in it.

A favorite of mine is Milka. I will eat virtually any Milka chocolate, but I am partial to their plain milk chocolate. Brilliance.

Also, Ritter. They make a good chocolate mint truffle.

not since the days of the Rolling Stones trial and Marianne Faithfull have chocolate and bugger come up in the same phrase

I hope she played safe and left the wrapper on.

Oh I know this is a Fleet St myth but the story is too good to worry about truth.

This explains the reference to the Hershey highway

The Lindt truffles Leafy showed are quite popular here in Canada, especially around Christmas time.

But we DO have our own brand of chocolate, named after a famous Canadian, and they're not bad at all:

Laura Secord

They make a pretty good truffle, and I love their Buttermallow chocolate bar!

Here's another famous Canadian chocolatier:

Roger's Chocolates

My husband introduced me to the Victorian creams, and they are gooooood!

[Remembers a certain post in TOE, and blushes....]

Are you bringing the Austrian and German contingents into the mix here?? :suspicious:

I'll just ignore that comment :nono: .... We have already had our 'duell' and it has been decided. Not our fault if the rest of the competition didn't bother to show up! :P

pat, pat- There, there now. These things are bound to happen in a community... we are all just 'synchronising' at the moment. It will be hell though, when all start PMSing together... :Q :scared:
