I graduate from college tomorrow, having done four year's coursework in three years' time while taking care of a husband and working part-time. Which is my excuse for not posting much lately. I look back over the past three years, and there's been a lot of learning.
* Oven doors are hot too. They burn.
* Porcelain sinks are an invention of Sauron.
* Even the most sensitive man who actually listens will still have annoying quirks, like never knowing where he puts things.
* Life is not about making my parents happy.
* Ignorance may be bliss, but knowledge is far too much fun.
* I'm the biggest geek at my college
* If someone tells you your idea is impossible, it'll work out great.
* It is possible to research and write a ten-page paper in about four days. And get an A.
* Dishwashers are an enormous blessing and everyone who has one should feel grateful.
* Culinary students are very dangerous around fire. Especially if they insist on using dishrags as potholders.
* Life is a lot more fun when you learn to laugh at your mistakes.
* Most people are afraid to be different and to use their imagination. I pity them.
* It is possible to find truly frightening things on the internet, even with a paranoid filter.
* No matter how many books I read, I keep coming back to LOTR. It just says so much truth about life.
So here's to a new life, out of college. I don't know yet what I'll be doing, or where I'll be in five years. But that's the fun part, right? I'm just so glad to be done with homework.
