I used to think the guy who played Teal'c was a somewhat limited actor, because he always seems to be wearing that same expression of faintly bewildered disgust. But I saw the episode where he and Colonel O'Neill switch bodies, and I have to say that he got all of the O'Neill mannerisms down pat. So kudos to him!

I also thought he was hilarious in the scene where he attempts to tell a joke. I found it on youtube to share with all of you: :D

I've watched a few of the clips in the special features sections where Christopher Judge is out of character and laughs and smiles like that a lot .... and it's just creepy! I'd rather see him as T'ealc.

Sooo Season 3 ends on a cliffhanger as well. :suspicious: I guess I might as well resign myself to this being a pattern for the rest of the series.

Luckily my copy of season 4 has arrived at the library just in time. We here in Ottawa really get our money's worth for our municipal taxes.

Well, at least the public library portion. The public transport portion? Not so much.

Yeah, I'd probably get used to it. I'm guessing that will be the pattern.

Oh my. Those Replicators are creepy :uhoh:

I wonder which is scarier - a huge spider-like creature such as Shelob, or a huge herd of smaller spiders like Aragog and his gang? Both are pretty creepy.

Season 4 spoilers below

I think I've seen the first Stargate episode that I didn't really like. It's episode 5 from season 4, where they think Carter and O'Neill may be brainwashed assassins (za'tarcs). First of all, za'tarcs were never mentioned before, and all of a sudden it's a big issue. Second, they could have easily figured out who it was by searching everyone for that blue hand-weapon. It irks me when none of the characters come up with the blindingly-obvious solution just so they can get a plot out of it (also a common pet peeve I have with some of Rossini's operas).

And lastly, shortly after Carter and O'Neill admit they have feelings for each other, another character dies who could have been a stumbling block to their relationship. Altogether too neat, too contrived. I think the screen-writers must have been asleep when they wrote this one.

Oh well. Everyone's entitled to the occasional off-day.

When getting DVDs of this show, does anyone know if there are any difference between this series:

Season 8

and this one:

Season 8

?

Anyone seen the series "Sanctuary"? It has Amanda Tapping (Major Samantha Carter) in it.

We've watched Season one. Haven't felt any strong urge to get season 2 yet. It wasn't bad... but it wasn't good either. Quite forgettable, in fact. I don't think I could tell you the story line of a single episode if I tried. Well, maybe the first episode, but after that they all kind of blur together.

Not to mention the fact that Amanda Tapping with black hair and a British accent is just *wrong*. I don't know if she's doing the accent badly or not, but it jars me out of the story every time she opens her mouth with the reminder that this is what they are doing to differentiate her from "Sam"s character. I guess. Who knows what their reason is?

I recently saw Jamie Bamber (played Apollo in Battlestar Galactica) in an episode of Dollhouse, and his British accent didn't bother me at all. I've seen him first with an American accent in all the BSG shows, but having a British accent in the Dollhouse episode only surprised me the first couple of times he said something.

I dunno. Maybe it's just the writing that makes Amanda Tapping sound so wrong when doing a British accent? Or maybe she's doing it badly and I don't have a good enough ear to tell what she's doing wrong?

edit: fixed misspelling

Interesting. I just looked her up on IMDB and she was born in Essex. So instead we should be praising her for her totally convincing American accent. I never suspected that it wasn't her natural accent.

Really??? :Q :Q OK. Well. That blows that theory out of the water! I have no idea why her character on Sanctuary bothers me so, then.

Maybe you don't like the Essex accent?

Is there an accent for Essex? :suspicious: I can't really tell British accents apart. I can just barely distinguish Australian from British. She grew up in Canada, by the way.

Just finished season 7. And despite what happens to Col. O`Neill at the end, I see that he`s on the cover of the season 8 DVD.

I guess it`s impossible to die in this series :D
