Ah, sorry...then I don't know how to link it for public viewing. Any suggestions, anyone?

ETA, how about I share a link to my Google photos album?

Does this work?

That worked.

Wow! What garden! And what a building!

Glad you can see the photos at last! Arundel is a wonderful place to visit, with its pictureque buildings and riverside as well as the castle, of course. You can see the gothic-style Roman Catholic cathedral in a couple of the pictures, as well as the town chirch of St Nicholas. All three buildings dominate the skyline in the shot I took from the car of the town in the distance.

Are you watching the British Castles series on Netflix? They had an episode on Arundel Castle. It was fascinating.

No, we don't have Netflix. I did watch a BBC series a year or so ago, with Sam Willis. It was called "Castles: Britain's Fortified History". Might that be the same one?

Thanks, Jude, I really enjoyed that! It seems it was a Channel 5 series originally. They do broadcast quite a lot of royal history programmes. It's been decades since I was last inside the castle. Lisa and I were reminiscing about school trips there in the 70s!

Btw, the Philip Howard (son of 4th Duke, Thomas) who was mentioned on the programme as being held prisoner in the Tower of London by Elizabeth I for refusing to renounce his faith, was considered a martyr to the Roman Catholic faith after his death and was canonised in 1970. The RC cathedral in Arundel was rededicated to Our Lady and St. Philip Howard and his tomb was relocated there in 1971.

You might enjoy the rest of the series too, then. Last night I watched the episode on The Tower of London. I turns out that both it and Colchester Castle were designed by Bishop Gundulf. They were the original Two Towers :D

It's great, isn't it?

In actual gardening news, my blueberry plant has come back! I was pretty sure it would come back, but I wasn't absolutely sure since it spent the winter outdoors in a container, rather than being planted into the ground.

A resilient plant!

We put up the trellis for our peas today. It's a metal frame with a net, and I am not convinced it can withstand the inevitable squirrel acrobatics.

We would politely request videos of any such squirrel acrobatics. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

If I can catch that squirrel on camera. It used to visit my neighbor's orange tree, conveniently located by the fence. I almost decided to put up one of those tiny picnic tables so I could take a picture of the squirrel using it. But then the neighbors picked their oranges.

Here's my blackcurrant bush:

Anyone remember when I posted a picture of the tiny bush when I first planted it a few years ago? Now if all those blossoms become cluster of actual berries, then 2021 will finally be the Year of Blackcurrant Jam.

Let us hope and spray :halo:

If that happens, I might just break quarantine and come over. I love blackcurrant jam. (I'll trade you for plum products)
