:Q

I'm NEVER speaking to you again.

Just sayin'.

:P

Actually, I will, for a moment, just to share how much my MIL irritates me. :)

Last week we had a different strings concert, at a school gym. I went first, with the usual five kids in my car (yes, I only have two children, myself) and "saved seats", because Mr. Anth didn't want his mom to have to sit there, bored, waiting for the concert to set up, etc.

Apparently it didn't bother him that I would sit there, bored. Just sayin'.

ANYWAY, when I got there none of the kids were on the stage. I got a few seats and saved them, (which I hate to do... everyone bugs you for them later) and, in the HOUR that I sat there, the kids set up the stage, and eventually Mr. Anth and his mom got there.

Well, from where we were vs. where my daughter was, we couldn't see her face (a music stand was in our line of sight). Of course, there was no way to know where she was going to be when I saved the seats.

My MIL must have commented 10 times (I am not kidding) about how BAD the seats were that I had saved. "Oh, if we had ONLY sat a few seats to the left... just a FEW seats to the LEFT... why, we could have seen her sweet face. It almost wasn't worth being here if we couldn't SEE her.. why couldn't we have sat just a FEW seats to the LEFT...."

I tried to explain it to her (through gritted teeth), and she just looked up at me with that vacant stare and said "Well, (and there's always a little sarcastic laugh behind that "Well"... arrggghhh) SURELY you understand that we could have seen her face had we been just a few seats to the LEFT?"

:Q

Why, yes. Yes, I believe I got that.

ARRGGGHHHHHH!!!1

I'm always left to wonder if she's just that thick-headed, or if she's doing it on purpose.

I have my dark suspicions on the matter...

My brother's new mother-in-law does it strictly on purpose.

And my sister-in-law was the first to say that!

Usually MIL's do not tend to smack down on their sons-in-law... it is more common for MIL's to smack down on their DAUGHTERS-in-law. Your bro's MIL must be gifted.

Darned women. They are so territorial.

Did I ever tell you guys about the time that I was posing for a pic with my bros-in-law, hubby, and kids, and she asked me to step OUT of the picture?

Said it was family only.

:help:

 ... haven't crochet (crochetted????) in years - but now that you mention it Cem, I remember it was soothing for the nerves. I really should take it up again :D
It's just a temporary cloak (google raided). The new year will hopefully bring a new one.

.... :Q What am I still doing here???? Ought to be packing really. See you next year

Hope you'll all have a merry and peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year.

So Anthy, did you step out of the picture?

I think I know the answer...

And yes, she is very talented. But given the choice between her & my mom I think they made the right decision to live in WA rather than IN!

When in due course of time I become a MIL :Q if my daughter-in-law posts here and asks this question, you may confidently tell her that it is on purpose. =:)

But I will never ask her to step out of the picture. Poor Anthy.

:grouphug: everybody.

What is MIL?

And did someone say crochet? I've been working on my blankie every night this week, it's helped keep my mind off the boards at home. :)

Mother-In-Law

And, it is all too true that many hubbies often come attached with quite unpleasant ones. Not always, of course, but often.

grits at some memories of hers......

Oooh, yes, I know what you mean! But you made some good posts!

(But you also remind me of my own unfinished cross-stitch projects, and that's not nice! :P ;) )

And  for cem, 'cos she needs them! :)

tinwe, LOL, no, EST is fine - pacific time would have been a problem. :D
(And seeing that I had meant to bake cookies today and didn't get round to it yet again - I think I'll definitely need some panicking at some point! :P :D )

ROFL, Anthy (even though I'm sorry for you)!
But you really should have moved a bit to the left, you know! :P
Why are you so damned intransigent? :P :blackeye:

Alandriel - so good to see you, if only briefly! Merry Christmas to you, too!

Inspired by Anthy, I changed my avatar too.

:D

Now I just need to find a corner & a santa hat... :tired:

TM, for teh singletons! ;) Given what my brother has relayed & from many other stories I doubt you really want a MIL. If you were a good little girl this year perhaps we can chip in & get you a MIL for under your christmas tree!

:LMAO:

Either reaction would be appropriate, or perhaps you could strive to achieve both at the same time. ;)

I like your avatar, BTW. Now that's a Santa I could believe in, and he is in a much better shape to slip down the chimneys. =:)
