Can we smoke and make out here too?

We had much more of that at the Bikeracks than fighting!

Holby, as a flagwaving Irishman I have to call you on your spelling of "Jamiesons". If you're refering to the quality Irish Whiskey, it is "Jamesons" with no i. And if you're drinking some other imposter of a drink, then you should be drinking Jamesons. And you wonder why you wer...

Congratulations Breogan. Not on meeting Mr. Mortensen, which I'm sure was a thrill, but on having the courage to put yourself out there and risk embarrassment. It takes a lot of guts to do what you did, and when many people here would be berating themselves for not having had the balls to follow thr...

Rodia, I also enjoyed Young Indiana Jones and Muppet Babies :) . In fact I love origin stories. The problem is that if they're written in a given order it's impossible to go back in time and experience that first reading without baggage. Some of Farseer is truly heartbreaking, but will lose a lot of...

Rodia, I hate to say this but you've read them in the wrong order. It should be Farseer, Liveship Traders then Tawny Man. I'm afraid some of the twists and turns in Farseer will have been ruined for you.

I hate that!

*E*, do yourself a favour and skip Beyoncés crucifiction of "Learn to be Lonely". Even ALW looked embarrassed.

I actually found the TORC banning slightly less painful :)

I have to agree with Voronwe and Lidless. Playing by Jon and Teds rules is validating their argument and position. I also had posted nothing regarding B77 as I was unaware of it's existence. I was banned for pushing against their unjust locking of threads and their curtain of silence. It hurts a lit...

Just an idea for a humourous thread. Pick any scene from the movies, EE's or indeed book scenes that were cut and provide your parody here. Here's one I wrote for the RotK thread on TORC that I wanted to share with you all. [The beast growls and approaches Theoden. Theoden looks up and is afraid. Eo...

Come on, Helen, I didnt know it was HIM! I thought he was some wanker of a tourist mesmerised contemplating the Cathedral while stading in the middle of the arcade. But it was, wasn't it? I mean, the wanker tourist was in LotR but he was still just being a wanker tourist... Just Sayin' :D Alatar Sa...

Thanks Everyone.

Prim, Mrs Alatar is now off work and at home. Due date is March 17th so it'll only be a couple of weeks before there's a new Alatar or Alatara junior to keep me from posting here as much as I'd like!

Pics will be provided!

A Christmas Childhood by Patrick Kavanagh One side of the potato-pits was white with frost— How wonderful that was, how wonderful! And when we put our ears to the paling-post The music that came out was magical. The light between the ricks of hay and straw Was a hole in Heaven's gable. An apple tr...

I used to always have a problem with Necessary. It always seemed to look like it needed an extra "c". Finally a friend told me they had the same problem in school and their teacher gave them a handy quote to remind them: "A Cess pit is Necessary". I've never forgotten it since. A...

I missed this the first time round, but caught it on satellite during the week. I have to say I really enjoyed it. Light years ahead of the abysmal Van Helsing, better than Blade but not quite up there with Buffy (for my money). It seems to have really flown under the radar so I'm curious to see wha...

Great points Voronwe. If I can add another section for you consideration it would be the entire Moria sequence from Fellowship. There is a beat or rhythm to that section of film that is hypnotic and breathtaking. At times it is echoed in the music, at other times in the dialogue and often in the sil...

Alatar crashes through the door and skids into the thread in an absurd parody of Kramer from Seinfeld

So is this the pseudo-monthly thread or what? Is there a theme? A beverage of choice? Cookies?

Or am I in the wrong place?

Alatar glances around uncomfortably and sidles back out the door

A female friend of mine reduced me to tears laughing one day when I heard her absentmindedly singing along to Les Miserables. It was Eponine's signature tune that she was singing. What a difference a syllable can make:

On My Own, pretending he's inside me!

I'll be there Ethel, probably cutting and pasting from the TORC thread for the first few chapters!
