I'm conflicted as to whether or not I should join in. On the one hand, I don't want him to feel left out - on the other, I can't just go on there as if nothing's happened and everything was wonderful.

I just came in to report that Byron's post underneath Mummpy's in the stats thread has been deleted, but not Mummpy's. And there's a note from IE (nothing new, just the usual)

There's no coding involved; the picture itself is an animated gif. Once you've created it, simply upload the file as you would any other, and the animation will take care of itself.
