Was this question ever settled? I ask because my outdoor door area is completely infested with web with a rather large and smug looking web-producer. I'd like to clean it up by taking a vacuum to the whole thing, but after I bring the vacuum back inside, is that thing going to exit and wreak havoc?

We're in our second tornado warning of the day, and there actually was a tornado in Barrhaven (south Ottawa).

Just as well that my office is in the basement, because we're all advised to go to the basement and wait it out.

More, because I just can't stop thinking about this... Did anyone read the waiver that the passengers are required to sign? It's pretty dire, but there was no refund if they refused to sign it. The question is: were they shown the waiver before they signed up and handed over their money? If not, the...

I used my regular washing-up liquid, mixed with water. I wasn't exact with the measurements, just squirted some into the spray bottle and filled it with water, and sprayed and repeated. During the peak of last season I was spraying every day and there were always aphids on the leaves - until there w...

I don't think it was the companion planting - the lavender didn't survive very long, it just couldn't get enough sun under the thick blackcurrant bush. I think it was all the spraying with soapy water, and also coating the base of the plant with Vaseline. I keep checking and periodically spraying, b...

Still no aphid infestation. Did I permanently eradicate them last year? So the work may start on my back garden as early as this week. So I may be able to plant stuff in early August. Question: assuming I can still find them for sale in August, should I plant blackberry, raspberry, and blueberry bus...

There was a tornado in Alberta, with fist-sized hail. Homes were damaged, but luckily nobody seems to have been injured:

Just had a random thought: what if the original Titanic disaster had happened today? All the passengers in the lifeboats would have captured the actual sinking on their smartphones, and a large number of them would be live-tweeting and/or live-instagramming the whole thing.

The air is becoming smoky again. Since this looks like it may be a trend, I should probably invest in getting an indoor air purifier / filter. Any advice or recommendations?

I don't think that's a coincidence - having a family connection to the Titanic would naturally draw someone to get involved with it.

I suppose what happened is preferable to being stuck waiting for the end. It’s certainly what I would have preferred.

Did you watch the first video or the second one? I watched the first, and the camera was always up close and badly-framed.
