Isn't the war due when the US pull out of Iraq in the next few years? Iran then invades Iraq (and possibly Isreal) and the US can then pile in to help its 'ally' in the same way they did with Kuwait. This way the US military can be seen to be on the good guys side, helping stem the tide of the evil ...

Jude, from memory (and its very hazy), I think it was supost to have been word brought to him by Gildor, and I think it was someting to do with trouble down at Sarn Ford. Maybe it was news from Aragorn? I could be very wrong though, its ages since I read Unfinished tales. So I don't know, but would ...

I can't help wondering what would happen if a car with a 'Chritianity is great' runs into a car with 'Satan is great' sticker? Say the Sheriff that turns up is a nice law abideing Churchman, dedicated to his faith etc. Is he going to take sides? Would he be able to side with the driver who supports ...

Ok, I will take that as a win and offer this one to the masses...

What was Bilbo's final, and one may say anti-social, gesture in the Hobbit?

Let me emphasize "original layout." :) As in, before the two trees, etc.
Origional as in island in a sea flanked by two lamps? Or origional as in idea in the mind of Eru?

Very true. Even the farthest reaches of topology and abstract algebra mathematicians do expect one day to have a bearing on scientific theories. Is that not based on the current paradigm though? If it changes in a very real way, say we suddenly found out that maths was fundementally flawed in some ...

She finds an enormous white fluffy robe, smothers herself in it, and curls up in a deckchair with a cheeky margarita and the latest Vogue. Bliss. There is a huge *POP*, a cloud of white smoke and cat hair drifting on the smell of patchulie and ginger, and the white fluffy robe transforms its...

Some years ago there was a documentary about Cheddar, in England. A mummified corpse was found in a cave or somewhere. Scientists were able to extract DNA and then they tried to find a descendant of Cheddar Man in the local schools. It turned out a history teacher was a descendant and the man didn'...

I'm always saying that "atheist" is a bad label because it defines people based on what they're not rather than on what they are. That misses the point somewhat. To define an athiest as somebody who doesnt believe in god is a bit like defining a vegitarian as somebody who doesn'...
