Thanks for the link. I've put "Atlas shrugged" on my "Don't-touch-it-even-with-a-firepoker"-list.

I came here again after I image-googled my nickname, and got struck with an old Anke Eissmann pic on TORC. Strolled through what's TORC today, noticed that it is almost two years since I've logged out. Stumbled upon the hall of fire and noticed how well developed this site is - and that Kirstin Land...

I value Reich for his fancy ideas, but that's just one layer of the cake. You can explain capitalism and fascism with sexuality, but you can explain them with economy and politics and religion as well. People flock(ed) to both ideologies for different reasons. Of course, you can explain economy, pol...

Hm, I checked in on b77 after ages and this thread caught my eye (must have something to do with my nick). Well, in a way, it has: It can cause sterility in men if caught past puberty, as Ara-anna and Axordil noted. As far as I know, it's not only dangerous past puberty. I got mine so early I can't ...

'tis a bit kitschy, but I bet the greeting card industry will jump on that idea.

Ah I remember that joke, my mother told it in sunday school when I was about 6 or 7.* Then, it was a missionary pursued by a tiger.

*the local equivalent we've got. Btw. I'm turning 41 in two weeks.

40 and 3/4. Two weeks ago on the photoshoot for the kid's wear company I'm working for, a kid had to wear one of those dull sweatshirts with faux antique writing/logos printed on it. This one read "AUSTRALIA discovery team 1966". Obviously, 1966 is so terribly deeply down in the past +/- 2...

I found that book tedious and boring in the end, after a very promising start … not that I want to put you off it, dawn, but I think you require a fair warning.

I don't pity you for losing your father, loss is the thing that accompanies life as the shadow accompanies the sun. I pity you for not having experienced your father growing older, wiser and changing his mind while discussing things with you. And (remember Theoden) it might have been harder for your...

I so want to have children.

I'd like to have around a dozen or so, healthy and intelligent, with good jobs, and with enough love for their father that they support his extravagant lifestyle when he grows old (which, I think, is now).

What do you mean "never saw eye to eye"? Did you never meet him or did you just avoid looking at each other?
