Happy New Year to all! And a new post at last. Actually, I had written most of it about two months ago, but then didn't manage to finish it due to school and exams and general real-life stuff and a certain BBC three part ( :rage: how dare they end with such a cliffhanger and make us wait for another...

“I reckon you’ll find many things changed since your last visit to the city,” said Lôkhî as he glanced over Faramir’s shoulder at the map the Dúnadan had spread on his knees. He was sitting on the shattered remains of a huge pillar of white marble. Overgrown with gorse and opuntias and sw...

Indeed I have :). I'll get back to you as soon as I've read the story and had time to comment on it.

Good to hear from you both. I look forward to reading the latest version of "The Healer's Errand", Estel. Right now there's fall break at school for me, meaning I have some more time for writing and drawing/painting. Therefore, I hope to have figured out what Umbar and its inhabitant are l...

It took Faramir what remained of the night to inform Éomer about what had chanced ever since the Dúnadan’s return to the Harad. The many questions Faramir wanted to ask his brother-in-law he was forced to retain for later, so eager was the Rohir for every scrap of news of his sister. They had wi...

It would be cool indeed if Fabian won the tour, but he's no rider for the mountains (too heavy). He's rather for the Spring Classics like Paris-Roubaix or time trials, which he specialised in. But I also hope Andy is going to win the Tour this year, and not Alberto Contadope ... er Contador again ;)...

Hi Estel, my favourite (Fabian Cancellara) has been doing excellently. He spent most of the first week in the yellow jersey after an impressive prologue and an even more impressive ride over the dreaded cobblestones of Flanders. But he's no climber, so he lost yellow in the mountains. Unfortunately,...

I second that :). Good to have you back. Sounds like an awesome time with the hockey folks. Is there no chance to go pro with the photos? Surely the Komets need a real fan to design their official stuff, merchandise, calendars and the like, and some of the pics are really stunning. Then aga...

Hi Raksha, good to see you back on the boards. Did they offer any explanation why you couldn't log in for such a long time? I love your suggestions for how we should proceed with AJ, and I'm all in favour of doing something nasty to him. For the time being, however, I'm more concerned with his enemi...

Mablung and Nargêl, the captain of Khorazîr’s household guard, had chosen the camp’s location wisely. It was situated on a wooded hillside overlooking the valley the aqueduct took its beginning in. The watercourse was fed by a narrow stream that had been partly dammed to create a small lake of...

Hi Estel (and Raksha, who sent me an email because she can't log in to the Board for some reason), good to hear from you. I also hope the story is going to continue, but I, too, haven't heard from LoR in a while (she didn't reply to my email). So I don't know what's up at her end, and if she's inter...

According to what Faramir recalled of the references to distances on the maps he had studied, the aqueduct ran underneath the orchard wall’s battlements for about two miles. Their journey was a slow and silent one. Apart from feeling his way in the pitch dark, he had to concentrate on counting his...

Greetings Estel, great to see you're back.

As for new posts, I've almost finished one, but need to check with LoR first to find out how much time she's going to cover in her next post.

As they continued along the path, Faramir noticed that the gardens were far more alive than one would usually assume at this late hour. Several people appeared to have withdrawn to the more sheltered corners between the dark trees, and interestingly they were not only couples seeking privacy, but al...

Thanks Raksha. The Gladden-Fields series is still not complete, and I hope to finish some more paintings before the end of the year. But first I have to see to a couple of commissions. In fact, those are keeping me from continuing with the story, too. Tomorrow autumn break begins at school, which sh...

Hmmm ... now what could that be?

He's very curious, you know, and I think he suspects that it contains some teasing comment on his disguise.

Oh, Elessar is going to make an appearance alright. And Éomer, too. I'm currently rereading LotR (was high time for it, and just the right time, I feel), and am enjoying it tremendously, even more than I thought I would. And Éomer has just found his sister on the Pelennor ... :horse: So the mood i...

“You’ve returned just in time for the interesting part,” whispered Lôkhî to Faramir and Mezlâr as they joined him in the shadows outside the pavilion. “Marek spent a long time praising Umbar’s past. Good speech, but a little long, and with a rather … well … oblique approach to truth...
