I tried to find a pic of muttonchop sleeves for you but couldn't find any on google...

great big puffy sleeves, from the shoulder of the gown to the elbow, after which the sleeves narrow to form-fit the forearm

[ img ] sorta like this...but a true muttonchop sleeve is MUCH puffier.

Hey, I like those! :D

Thanks for the pics, Imp and Prim! :)

Well, Prim, if you're good with those, you can make me a dress like that anytime! :P Not for a wedding, I suppose, but I'd like such a dress. (Fell in love with this stuff over the "Anne of Green Gables" mini-series ages ago.) :D

No, it's quite true, TH, or I'd happily sew you a dress.

I should show you my sons' merit badge sashes.

I was kidding of course! :)

You would really sew me a dress if you could? :Q Wow! :D

Let's have some Long Island Iced Tea on that! (The hippopotamus has had enough already.) :D

The osgiliation on this board never fails to amaze-and amuse me. :LMAO:

Hey, what's going on with Estel's wedding dress, since we're now discussing wedding dresses?

Prim, I must admit, I am highly curious to see how a semiparalyzed hippopotamus who's had six Long Island Iced Teas sews. I'd let you sew my wedding dress just to be able to witness such a thing.

Veeeeeery slowly.

And a great deal of bad language is involved, especially in connection with refilling of bobbins, and rethreading of the machine when the %#!!@#! thread pulls itself out again.

And there is sweat flying everywhere, and violent stamping on the foot control.

This conversation is really interesting.

I hem my trousers with safety pins through the seam and when a button falls off a shirt I throw the shirt away. :P

Gently, Prim, gently. No stamping. Especially not the violent sort.

You dislike sewing as well, Jyn? I love to sew and think theduffster should give me her sewing machine since she never uses it. She thinks differently, though.

Perhaps I should do the sewing and leave the Long Island Iced Teas to Prim?

And...this is why the threads shouldn't be deleted. Tries to stay on topic... Look at all this osgiliation, future readers should not be deprived of this! ;)

Safety pins? How very technical. Whatever happened to tape? :)

As for buttons, I feel obliged to keep all the extras that sometimes come with blouses. I have a box full of them. Have I ever replaced one? Um....

I have, of necessity, become quite adept at the sewing on of buttons.

Waste not, want not, as the saying goes.

Which applies equally well to old threads (he says in a vain attempt to re-rail thread).
