The ranger pool is kind of a mess right now.
I will try and sort it out.
In the meantime it looks as though we have a few volunteers to come on board.
Should we rotate a couple in, or should we just change the whole lot?

Holby, I'd suggest that we rotate a few in. It makes it easier to have a few old hands about. I'd also suggest that Lily goes first of the three volunteers here, as she's never done it before.

Ok so I looked at the ranger pool and got a massive migraine.
I suggest Lily and Leoba replace the 2 oldest rangers asap, then Nin and whoever else replace the next two a month from now.
Okay?

As for the Ranger pool, it’s not that the thread itself is in that bad of shape, in fact I’ll go ahead and get it updated before I leave. The problem with it, of course, is that it’s full of people who don’t post here anymore and have no desire to be Rangers.
Thank you for saying that tinwe as it frustrated me to see it said several times that the ranger pool is a mess.

It is not the fault of the list if one has to go through the majority of the list to find someone who is willing to be a ranger. It is not the fault of the list if the people who volunteered to be on the ranger list never wanted to volunteer whenever the time came for them to do so.

I did my best to remove people who said they no longer had an interest and asked to be removed. There's nothing to be done about people who want to stay on the list yet never feel like the time is right to volunteer.

Anyway, I needed to get that off my chest.

Thanks Eru. For the record, I have never had reason to complain about anything you did as Mayor. I always thought you did a great job.

That said though, I have to say in all fairness that I don’t really know if the people on the list don’t want to serve. The truth is I’ve never asked them. It was decided some time ago that the Rangers would be responsible for finding their own replacements, and I have to admit that I have never tried. I like doing this, and have been happy to do it as people wanted me too. But, I know that’s not the way it was meant to be. It’s just that I’m not cut out for having the sort of responsibility that requires me find my own replacement. If that makes any sense.

Looking at the list again, there are actually quite a few people there who I imagine would serve if asked to. But I think we need new blood in the pool. Lily mentioned starting a thread in Turf and I think that is a good idea.

No it isn't the list, it's the headache of trolling through 30 names to get a maybe.
And not knowing when or if people will return.
Or if they will volunteer.

This thread is no longer used, so I'm going to lock it. If you have a question or concern please use the Need to Contact a Ranger? thread. :)

Rangers now communicate with each other in the Touching base with one-another thread.
