Saw it Saturday a.m. I liked it, but my purist tendencies kept poking out when the story deviated, although the changes and inserts really were done well and added to the story. I especially liked the following "additions": The scene at Rivendell where Elrond, Galadriel, and Saruman show u...

Funny the opinions on Muse expressed here, I like some songs alot and some not at all. Just finished "Madness" and "Supermassive Black Hole" - my two favorites currently, and have now switched over to Nine Inch Nails "Only", "Hurt", "Head Like a Hole"...

I can't help you out with your dance moves ( my current style involves sort of standing and shimmying ) but here is a recipe I used this summer. Watch the baking and resting time closely, I ruined a few meringues by leaving them in too long, and once the meringue browns too much, the taste is ruined...

Well, I hope phase one of your duck preparation went okay in spite of the unforeseen delay. :) I agree with Lali, hot or warm water on a frozen bird that is going to be directly cooked should work fine. If you want, for added flavor, use a hot brine to help with the thawing. An added bonus is that t...

Some good recipes I have made for myself that follow the DASH diet, i.e. low sodium, low fat, lower protein, and in my case, good sources for things like potassium, vitamin K, and beta carotene. But even my son likes these, and they are so easily tweaked. Sweet Potato Applesauce Bread 1 c. whole whe...

Here is the version of eggplant parmesan I am making tomorrow. I like this because it is really simple compared to some versions but still has all of the taste. Eggplant Parmigiana - Mario Batali's recipe 1/4 c olive oil 2 large eggplants (about 1 lb each) peeled if desired and cut into 3/4 inch rou...

Wow, Jude! You must really like pumpkin/pumpkin style pies!! :D I never made an acorn squash pie, and Jamaican pumpkin is also called calabaza squash here, although I never cooked it myself. If you have some foil pie pans, you can make the shells and freeze them as well, or make single crusts blind ...

And who says there is no such thing as karma.

:P

Serves Ms. Red Gingham Shirt right. The best part was her being wheeled into the ambulance with the dead cat not out of the bag on top of her. :damnfunny:

Poor kitty, at least he did not meet his demise without serving a greater good. :halo:
